This year, I had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Bokeh Photo Summit, hosted by Andre Brown. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the creative energy in the room. It was so refreshing to connect with a completely new audience made up of Andre’s community of talented photographers. Each person brought their own style, perspective, and passion for the craft.
What made this conference truly stand out was its perfect balance of tech, business, and creativity. Yes, it is about growing your portfolio and honing your artistic skills, but it is also about building the systems and strategies that help you thrive as a business owner.

Why Community Matters in Photography and Business
One of my biggest takeaways was this: Your network is your net worth. In entrepreneurship, community is everything. It is one thing to connect online, but meeting people face-to-face brings an entirely different level of connection. You can feel their energy, read their expressions, and truly get a sense of their vibe.
As a speaker, my favorite moment was sharing the tools and resources that make my photography business run smoothly. My talk was proudly sponsored by Sprout Studio, a platform I personally use to organize my business and simplify my workflow. As creatives, we often get so wrapped up in the art that we overlook the back-end operations that keep things sustainable. My goal was to show that sometimes less is more. Streamlined systems can save you time, reduce stress, and free up more energy for the work you love.
What Photographers Took Away from My Bokeh Photo Summit Session
One attendee summed it up perfectly: “My biggest takeaway was being organized and confident about your business, having strong communication, and being introduced to Sprout Studio. It showed me how to have simplicity in my business.”
Another shared, “She had a lot of energy and gave me a sense of rebirthing my business and how I want to lay things out. I got a lot of informative information from this summit, particularly from Angelica’s session.”

Hearing that my session sparked this kind of clarity and motivation was incredibly rewarding. The feedback I received reminded me that business systems are not just about efficiency. These systems are about giving business owners the freedom to focus on what they love most.
The Bokeh Photo Summit was not just a conference. It was a reminder of why I love this industry, the talent, the heart, and the willingness to share and learn. I left with new friendships, fresh ideas, and a renewed passion for blending creativity with business strategy.

If a conference like this sounds like just what you need, you can grab your spot for 2026 now! We’ll be in Atlanta on July 27-29, 2026. Can’t wait to see you there!
